Do you watch the bachelor? I'm a little embarrassed to admit this, but I watch the show religiously. Well, this season has been nothing if not controversial, but outside of the craziness, they do get to go to some amazing places! Monday they headed to Switzerland, so naturally, I had to look back through my photos of this amazing place.
I can't tell you enough how much I loved Switzerland. I ate an enormous amount of gruyere on toast and hiked around the most picturesque towns that I have ever seen. One of my favorite towns in Switzerland is Gimmelwald. It is a tiny, but breathtaking alpine village located 4472 feet above sea level.
If you ever have a chance to get to Switzerland be sure to find Gimmelwald! Its just a train ride up from Interlaken...
To reach Gimmelwald, you have to take a train car up the side of the mountain. The ride up is thrilling and the view is impeccable. I have never seen mountains like those in Switzerland. They are ginormous and seem so close!
The slogan of this little village is: " If heaven isn't what it is cracked up to be, send me back to Gimmelwald."
I'm pretty sure I could live out the rest of my days here; eating cheese and chocolate, staring off into the distance...maybe I would even take up herding goats.
