Sabaai Dii!
We are in Luang Prabang, Laos- a sleepy little scenic village in Northern Laos. Luang Prabang sits on a peninsula of sorts bordering both the Mekong and the Nam Khan rivers. We had a tough go of it for the first couple of days here (as you know) but we finally perked up and got to see what this town has to offer. Luang Prabang is both one of our favorites so far, although it's not hard to explain why. Foggy mornings spent wandering down quiet streets, sitting at cafes eating french cuisine, or climbing the hillside Wat to watch the sunset definitely add to Luang Prabang's charm.
Highlights:
Lao Massages ($5 for and hour)
Baguettes/crepes/all things french that you can put Nutella on
Night Market
Local food market
Photographer's dream
Waterfalls
Most of all: it's stunning
Lowlights:
Kip (Lao currency) begins with 1,000 and works its way up
Lao buses-what you see isn't what you get
