A journey south on Ubud's main street, monkey forest road, will lead you straight into the monkey forest sanctuary. This monkey sanctuary of sorts sounds cool right? Ton's of monkeys, maybe some temples, and Harrison Ford or Mowgli lurking about....but NO! Frankly this place scared the shit out of me! I have never seen so many monkeys in one place, and these are not timid creatures; they like to charge you, jump on your back while you are not looking, grab your ankles- just about anything to scare the crap out of you...oh and heaven forbid if you bring in fruit or a water bottle...your ass would be grass!
