Cameron Highlands!

One can only withstand perfection for so long....So Brian and I decided that we better get back to reality before we permanently become island children. We headed out early and took an early 7:00 am, freezing, three hour ferry back to Mersing on the mainland. From Mersing we took a five hour bus to Kuala Lumpur. The next morning we got up and did it all over again by  hoping on another 5 hour bus ride up to Tanah Rata in the Cameron Highlands. The Cameron Highlands are the only place in Malaysia where cool weather exists, which feels fabulous on our sunburnt skin! The Cameron Highlands looks as if we have accidentally landed ourselves in the British countryside, tea and crumpets included. It is also the same place where Jim Thompson (who we talked about earlier) mysteriously disappeared...so we are taking care to avoid tigers, headhunters, snakes, scorpions and basically everything that doesn't involve tea or strawberries.
