wanderlust wednesday; the williard intercontinental

In honor of the election, I thought I would highlight Washington DC as a wanderlust worthy destination, but since I haven't been to Washington DC, i'm going purely off of google/ lonely planet. I would love to go to Washington DC in the springtime and catch the cherry blossoms and wander around the countless museums, and if I was going to stay anywhere, I think it would have to be at the historic hotel, The Williard Intercontinental.

Located two blocks away from the White House, the Williard is famous in part because of its visitors. Abraham Lincoln hid out in one of the rooms, and stayed for weeks before his inauguration because of assassination attempts.
This room is appropriately called the "oval suite:"

Pretty opulent, but I think I could get used to it very quickly!

  5. Oh, I love these! I live in DC, and I can't decide if I like it more in the spring or fall. I love the pink cherry blossoms...but the fall, I love the fall here. You should definitely add it to your destination list. I have actually never been to it, but I hear the Willard has a pretty sweet rooftop bar/restaurant. When you visit, I'll meet you there for a drink. K? I'm your newest follower, by the way! :)
