destination flavor: the good ol' usa

Apple pie is pretty much synonymous with America and in honor of the Fourth of July, I thought I should share an absolutely delicious recipe that I stumbled upon. It's basically a deconstructed apple pie, and like all good inventions, it takes the best part of an apple pie, the filling, and constructs a dessert around it!

You can find the recipe via the absolutely delicious blog, Roost, and all the gorgeous photos below are hers as well!

If you are craving a more traditional apple pie, check out Honey & Jam's Cider Carmel Apple Pie!

I don't know if you all know this or not, but when my husband gets back from fishing, we are taking off around the country to see the USA! I've been to five continents, but figured it's high time to explore what is in my own back yard! So please excuse this non-travel centric post, i'm just trying to get excited about all things Americana for our epic road trip!

  2. I'm so glad that apple pie is the unofficial (or is it official??) dessert of America! And I've always wanted to take a cross country road trip. Sometimes the best destinations are right around you :)Where all are you going?
