Final Day in Bangkok
Well hello, this is sadly our last day in Bangkok, and seeing as how we could not see another tourist trap or "wat" if we wanted to, we just went about our routine as normal. We walked a street over to have breakfast at a little guesthouse that makes the most fabulous scrambled eggs and fresh baked breads. We then headed to China Town to find Little India, which is really not in China Town, so about an hour of being lost we found Little India, ate a thali, and grabbed some Punjabi sweets before we headed to one of Bangkok's mega-malls.
At the mall we went to the movie "Something Borrowed," but since it is new to Thailand, we had to pay for a "VIP" ticket. For less than the price of movie tickets at home, we were guided to a private lounge/theater and then given complimentary drinks. When we walked into the private theater, blankets awaited us on heavenly plush lazy boy chairs. The picture below is of the "VIP" lounge where you are waited on hand and foot.
Of course we followed the movie with Pad See Ew and some Changs, so it was the perfect culmination to a very "Thai" last day.

Learning to cook like a Thai!
Today we decided it was about time to move away from just eating like a Thai and more towards cooking like one. We walked down to the Khao Cooking School where we were taught to make four dishes. We learned pad thai, spicy catfish salad, green/red curry, and tom kah gai (a creamy coconut-based soup). We learned to use the wok like masters, but Brian kicked my ass in "plating." His dishes were always plated perfectly and garnished beautifully, who knew he was such an ace in the kitchen?! Anyways, we are excited to take our new found skills home, although I think I will let Brian take the ropes on this one!

Bangkok Repeat!
Bangkok is becoming something like a second home to us. We wander the streets eating at our favorite joints, grabbing snacks at the local 7-11, walking by the water; it's almost like we are back in Seattle, well only if you substitute out the 90 degree temp, humidity, and fabulous street food (although Seattle was gaining on the street food scene)....Anyways, here are some shots of walking around. Oh by the way, we only have a few more days left, so if anyone knows some more "must sees" be sure to comment them below.

Back in Bangkok!
We made it back to Bangkok after an all-nighter on the bus. It was a long trip, especially since we arrived at 7:00 am and weren't able to check into our hotel until after 12:00 pm. We are staying one street over from Koh San Road at the Sleep Withinn Hotel. We decided to treat ourselves before we went home so we have all the amenities one could want that we haven't had for a very long time, such as hot water, air con, and a TV. But this time we even have a rooftop pool which feels oh so good during the mid-day heat!

Mommy dearest is here!
Ashley's mom Lisa arrived late last night, so we got up this morning and spent the whole day wandering through the city. Here are the photos of the Pink Duo (Caution, you will be forced to wear these shirts or worse if not properly dressed for temples!).

Here they are standing next to a guard at the Grand Palace
