video voyagism; going to cappadocia, turkey

This past fall, our friends David and Heidi toured around Europe, and ended up staying almost a month in Turkey. I've seen their photos and heard them talk about Cappadocia, which is in central Turkey...and it all made me insanely jealous! And now this video comes along and I almost can't stand it anymore. I'm going to have to hide my computer so I don't impulse buy a ticket to Turkey!
This video is awesome, so be sure to check out their other travel videos if you really want to torture yourself!

wanderlust wednesday: turkey

I'm craving a visit to Turkey.  Mainly I want to go and collect a million amazing rugs! But outside of my current rug obsession, I think Turkey is absolutely stunning and would be such a crazy journey because the country is so big and the landscape is so diverse! Hopefully these images will inspire some wanderlust for you as well!

Black and White Photography

While browsing Flikr, I came across Theblackstar's photostream. I thought I would share his beautiful photos, taken mainly in Turkey, although the last two are from Hamburg and Prague.

Turkey!

Honestly WTF's photos from the Turkish Coast are beautiful and making me extremely jealous...so I had to share them.

*Side note: I have always thought it was interesting how each culture has a unique "flat bread." Even rice based societies have some sort of bread. In Laos, it was a type of crepe, in Southern Thailand we ate roti.
In Holland you have pannekoeken, Mexico you have tortillas, US has pancakes...you get the picture.

Turkey is on my immediate travel list, well along with about 150 other places, but Turkey is definitely up there.
