Botswana is a land-locked country located in South Africa. It is one of the most sparsely populated countries on the planet and is almost entirely (70%) covered by the Kalahari Desert.
The Okavango Delta and the Chobe River provide a year-round water supply, attracting nearly all southern African mammals to Botswana. Most people travel to Botswana to take advantage of the country's huge ecological diversity, mainly through safaris in the Moremi Wildlife Reserve and Chobe National Park.
If I landed in Botswana, I would be out in the wildlife reserves as quick as possible, and I would not complain if I had to camp out among the wildlife here:
Abu Camp, is located near the Okavango delta, and guest stay in private "tents." You really rough-it camping here...each tent is on its own platform, with its own bathroom, although since you are out in the wilderness, you are not allowed to walk around at night without a guard!
It seems as though Botswana is too gorgeous and unique of a place to put into writing (especially for someone that has not been there yet), but if I ever make it to Southern Africa, Botswana will surely be one of the first countries I visit.
