Iphoneography #13

I hope your weekend was great and sunny. We are still in juneuary and have had a little sun here and there...but i'm beginning to lose my mind a bit with this constant drizzling! Anyway, we are moving out of our apartment at the beginning of this week, so our fridge is EMPTY and we have had a week/ weekend of constantly eating out...I have eaten a lot of extremely delicious food (no complaints here): sushi, latin, pho, southern breakfast, mexican, oyesters...
Sushi on the left at Rain and latin food on the right(white fish in a cinnamon type of sauce) at Mojito, one of our new favorites in Seattle.
Saturday before we headed over to Fremont for the Solstice Parade, we witnessed the pre-parade naked bike ride. It actually caught us off guard while walking to our apartment. It started a block away from our place and we couldn't get across the street because of the hoard of bikers. I definitely saw more naked men and women then I have ever cared to see...and it was chilly (not a pretty sight).

It took us about 30 minutes to walk into the parade because of the huge crowds, but we were lucky enough to have friends near the front, so we plopped ourselves down on the pavement to watch the craziness. When I started to shoot photos with my SLR, I realized that I forgot my SD card! I did the exact same thing a few years ago at the Fremont Solstice Parade (so frustrating), but thank god for instagram!

Sunday, Brian and I finally went on that date, at The Walrus and the Carpenter. This is one of the best meals I have ever eaten, no kidding! Everything was phenomenal, from the wine to the oysters. I am also now an oyster convert. I never ever considered eating those slimy things, but once I poured the W&C's champagne vinegar on top, the oyesters tasted like butter.

We finished off an absolutely fantastic meal with a strawberry crostada, dusted with sea salt and accompanied by creme fraiche. I'm pretty sure I am in love this meal!

  4. I got texts from my friend Dave all about that naked bike ride–his Baltimore eyes couldn't believe it! Sounds like a scrumptious weekend with the exception of that walk though!

  7. It never gets boring in Fremont, that's for sure! The nakedness was pretty funny, especially the paint jobs! There were girls who painted dresses and wore a sash, it was brilliant! Thanks for the new instagram followers :)
