Travel Tips and Tidbits, with Catherine from FEST

I am so excited to feature Catherine, from the awesome blog FEST.  Not only does she have killer style, she is also an avid traveler!

1. Tell us a little about yourself:

My name is Catherine Fishback and I live in Hermosa Beach, CA with my handsome husband, Bradford. By day, I am an Account Executive for a major advertising agency and by night, I am a blogger, home chef and community volunteer. In college, I completed study abroad programs in both Madrid, Spain and Jerusalem, Israel, which changed my life. I love my daily life in our sleepy little beach town, but I am happiest with I am traveling, meeting new people and re-discovering the commonalities among all human beings.

2. When/Why did you start blogging:

I first started blogging in 2008 to share my travel experiences in Jerusalem. I loved being able to express my ideas and experiences in writing. After that trip ended, I started a few different blogs, including a food blog, a personal blog and a couples blog (when I got married). FEST began because I wanted a singular place to focus and explore my three passions: food, style and travel. I never realized how fun and rewarding this journey would be.

3. What is your dream trip:

Ultimately, I'd like to travel EVERYWHERE! But most immediately, my dream trip is to take a year to travel through Thailand, India, and Southeast Asia. Bradford lived in Thailand for three years and speaks the language fluently so I'm dying to go!

4. Where is your favorite place in the world:

Ironically, my favorite place in the world is right where I grew up, a city called Palos Verdes, CA. It's a gorgeous community set on a hill on a peninsula with views overlooking the Pacific Ocean on three sides. I've traveled to some amazing places and seen breathtaking views, but my favorite place is still a spot I call home.

5. Favorite food/ where do you find it:

Mexican food. I love all types of food, but you can never go wrong with Mexican. There is a local, dirty sidewalk shop called El Burrito Jr. about a mile from my house that we tend to frequent. They give you these massive burritos with loads of chips and salsa all for about $7. Bradford and I split it and we're full.

6. Any great travel tips/ secrets?
