Wanderlust Wednesday: Big Fork, Montana

Located in Northwestern Montana, Big Fork is a tiny town that sits at the heart of the Flathead and Swan Valleys.  It is only an hour away from Glacier National Park and minutes from Flathead Lake.   My good friend Hannah has a huge family compound a few minutes outside of Big Fork and is pretty much a local. When I asked her why people should visit Big Fork, this was her response:

"Top Reasons to Visit Bigfork"
1. The Garden Bar (an awesome outdoor bar with live music typically on Friday and Saturday).
2. The Wild Mile Trail, along the river

3.  Big Fork Summer Playhouse, great local theater

4.  All the wonderful locally made jewelry and art galleries

5.  Sake to Me Sushi- delicious (owned by a really cool couple who run it in the summers and take off for SE Asia in the Winter)
6.  Every summer they have an amazing art festival7.  Every Memorial Day weekend they have a whitewater festival where kayakers race down the craziest mile of the river
8.  The people. Everyone in this town is extraordinarily nice-Montana hospitality at its finest.
While we were visiting Big Fork last weekend we noticed field after field of bright yellow flowers. I still am not sure what they are...

One of Hannah's good friends from Big Fork (part of the sushi duo that takes off in the winters) also sells handmade headbands, which we asked to model on Saturday. I was a little lot hungover, so I was definitely not up to par with the other models!
The headbands are awesome and would be perfect once the weather takes a turn for the worse!
You can find them at Plethora
If you haven't been to Montana, I definitely recommend a trip, just the scenery alone will leave you speechless.
