Iphoneography #7

A week in review via Instagram...

Monday we headed to West Seattle to watch our favorite musicians; Joe Pennell and Dawn Angelosante! (I designed the poster for their show)
Tuesday, the fiance and I had a date night. He took me to Bastille in Ballard. Their design is as good as their food...once you enter Bastille it feels as if you are instantly transported into a cafe in Paris.
We ate croque monsieur and fresh oysters...
Friday we had made plans to go camping at Deception Pass in our nugget...
The nugget had other plans...it died on us in the middle of driving down the road and has been stuck on the side of the road ever since.

So Saturday we grabbed our partners in crime, David and Heidi Winters and headed for a day trip up to Mt. Vernon to the tulip festival! (and we did a pit stop at Lululemon's outlet!)
We were told to head straight to Snowgoose Produce and get their delicious ice cream. Well after waiting in an hour line, we finally got our ice-cream. One scoop was about the size of my head.

After our ice-cream coma, we finally walked over to the tulip fields.

 The colors were absolutely stunning!

Sunday, per usual, we walked down to the Sunday Market in Ballard.
After the market, we headed to gasworks park with some friends to drink wine and enjoy the sun. I actually got a sunburn (i'm thrilled)!
Hope your weekend was delightful as well!

The Apartment of A&B

I thought I'd give you all a sneak peak at our tiny TINY apartment. I'm secretly a little proud of our space. Brian, being the crafty man that he is, built a super rad shelf and a headboard that I have been drooling over on Pinterest. I feel like we might be on the verge of hoarding, but for now i'm labeling our apartment as bohemian!
Brian surprised me one day by matting and framing a painting we brought back from Laos. *It's the yellow one by our bed.
Didn't he do a great job on the headboard and pallet shelf!

I found that grey side table at a thrift fair and when I bought it, they owner told me that they called it "little ugly," but i'm pretty sure its grown out of its nickname.
*That's a vintage school desk by the door (we're still not sure what to do with it).

I had to throw in some pretty lemons...they remind me of summer (and now i'm craving lemonade).

Screen printing in Ballard

Have you ever gone screen printing?
I wasn't even exactly sure what screen printing was until yesterday, but now I am addicted. We were lucky enough to be in the right place at the right time and walked into a free screen printing session in an art studio located right across from our apartment. We walked in and were immediately thrown into the process, it was fantastic!

I'm still not sure how you get an image imprinted onto the screen (that's the next project) but screen printing is fairly simple...you place your paper under the screen, set the screen down, run a line of paint along the top edge and then squeegee it down to the bottom, and repeat once. Voila!

Our friend's finished project!

On the Street: Seattle

I'm finally back in Seattle, and I couldn't have asked for a better weekend. It was almost 60 degrees, and sunny and we were able to cram in as much as possible while my mom was here. We did end up visiting two dress shops, but nothing worked so the search continues, although I would be happy wearing a sheet at this point.

For some reason I am obsessed with baker's twine...

Ballard has great storefront fonts

First flowers I have seen all winter!

Walking through the market

Our new little studio. It's about the size of a postage stamp, but the fiance has been hard at work building our headboard and the pallet shelf at the foot of the bed!

It was a busy weekend, but i'm glad to be back.
I hope your weekend was a little more laid back than mine. I sadly missed Madonna's superbowl debut, was it any good?
